Mr Bevan suffered critical injuries, including a fractured skull, bleeding in the brain, a collapsed lung and a pierced lung – while his family is anxiously waiting to see how he will recover
Mr. Bevan is based in the Fiona Stanley rehabilitation unit in Perth, where he is waiting for part of his skull for an operation, which will be replaced by a metal plate.
His mother, Mandi told Ilot 9News his post-traumatic memory loss was still very serious and he still cannot see.
& # 39; He does not seem to know where he is or what happened, although it is difficult to say whether this is entirely the case or because of his communication that he is unable to express the correct words.
& # 39; He still has no vision that makes his recovery even slower and more painful. & # 39;
Despite the circumstances, she remained optimistic about his recovery.
& # 39; Lukey is the most determined person I know. Once in his life I cannot remember that he was told that he cannot do something and that he has just accepted it. & # 39;
Mr. Bevan and his girlfriend Tova Ronnersjö were excited to explore Central and South America together after their meeting in Indonesia – their meeting place after Tova's Australian visa expired last year.

Bevan and his girlfriend were both injured in the crash, but the injuries of Mrs. Ronnersjo were considerably less severe
& # 39; Luke and Tova have overcome so many personal challenges to be together, & # 39; Mrs. Ilot said in a message asking for help fundraising before her son's flight home.
& # 39; Lukey has counted down the days to start his adventure abroad with the love of his life, and he has not even passed his first stop. & # 39;
Despite the distance between them, the couple always made sure they planned the next meeting point before saying goodbye, and publicly posted about their intimate connection on social media when they broke up.
The couple traveled through Australia together before Tova moved to Indonesia and had plans to see the world.
Luke visited Tova & # 39; s hometown in Sweden in March after he surprised her with return flights as a Christmas gift.
& # 39; Lukey is not someone you can easily forget, & # 39; said his brother James Bevan. & # 39; If it's not his big green eyes and smile, it's the things he'll do to make you smile, such as growing a mullet (photo) or getting a ridiculous tattoo. & # 39; He's my best friend and I just want him at home & # 39;
A message from the family's local pub noted that Mrs. Ronnersjö was also injured in the accident, but & # 39; physically in much better condition & # 39; used to be.
& # 39; She had an operation on her arm yesterday and expects to be released from the hospital tomorrow so she can be with Lukey, & # 39; read the post.
His brother had campaigned hard to raise money for Mr. Bevan to bring home, and noted that the couple were best friends.

A GoFundMe page from Mr Bevan's aunt Lisa Ilott-Hogg said his family was immediately rushed to Lombok to stand by his side when they heard about the accident
& # 39; It will be a very long way to recovery, but Lukey (photo) is a hunter and he has so much love and support around him & # 39 ;, said Illott-Hogg
