The Australian comedy duo behind the hugely popular podcast Little Dum Dum Club with Tommy and Karl We had a brutal fight.

Tommy Dassalo, 38, and Karl Chandler, 48, who have been producing the show for 14 years in Melbourne, took to social media to reveal the split on Wednesday.

In what was a messy public meltdown, Dassalo told his followers that his relationship with his on-air partner had “deteriorated” and that the pair “could no longer work together.”

She also added in the post, shared on X, that she found the situation “embarrassing.”

“Our working relationship deteriorated to the point where many commitments were left unfulfilled,” he said of the breakup.

‘Getting to this point was quite daunting for me, as someone who cares deeply about the quality and consistency of what I produce.

“There is no one person to blame, but there is no way out either. We can no longer work together and the program has suffered because of it.”

“Everything has to end at some point, right? Unfortunately, the other half of the show doesn’t feel the same way, even though I try to have a conversation about it,” she added.

Elsewhere in the post, Dassalo appeared to apologize to fans for revealing the drama off-air.

‘Anyway, it’s terribly embarrassing that this happens in public, but what can be done?’

Meanwhile, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Chandler appeared to poke fun at his former comedy partner with his own statement about the split.

“Hey guys, sorry for the drama, it was a bit much, don’t you think?”

Airing more dirty laundry for fans, Chandler agreed that the duo had issues and suggested there was some legal wrangling behind the split.

“It’s been really tough lately. I’ve always been great on air, but the working relationship behind the scenes is a bit complicated,” she confessed.

“Obviously I loved the show and put a lot of effort into it, and it would have been nice to have a normal chat with a friend instead of having legal jargon thrown at me out of nowhere. Really weird stuff, honestly.

She ended the brief post with a promise that she would post “more content” addressing the breakup.

Confirmation of the split comes after the couple failed to air an episode of Little Dum Dum Club with Tommy and Karl last week.

Fans were shocked after Chandler posted a message on his official Instagram last Wednesday explaining that no new episodes were planned.

“Hey guys, sorry. There’s no new episode today and nothing is planned,” he said.

“There’s been a new episode every week for 14 years or whatever, so yeah, it’s not very Rick. This week probably won’t be mentioned in the best of 2024.

“There’s trouble in paradise right now, so I apologize on my behalf because I really appreciate that so many of you are as engaged with the show as I am. There should have been a new episode today.”

‘My apologies again and talk to you soon! And happy 9/11! KC.’

Dassalo added his own message to the post:

Chandler is a well-known writer on the comedy scene and has contributed to Hard Quiz, Spicks and Specks and The Project.

Dassalo, meanwhile, is best known as a comedian and has performed regularly at the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
