According to police, three children were injured after being attacked by a man at a daycare in Switzerland.
Police launched a major operation after being alerted to the attack, which took place in the north of Zurich around midday local time.
Local residents in the Berninastrasse area reported seeing terrified parents running to find their children when news of the attack emerged.
‘There are at least six or seven police cars at the scene. The ambulance is also in the square with several vehicles,” a witness told local media.
Police said they arrested the man suspected of carrying out the “violent crime” but gave no further details about the nature of the attack.

‘Shortly after twelve o’clock, the Zurich municipal police were alerted to a violent crime on Berninastrasse. “Three children were injured,” the Zurich municipal police said in a press release.
‘A suspect was arrested in connection with this. “There is no longer any danger to the public.”
The statement added that the man had “attacked several children.”
The circumstances, the identity of the alleged attacker, or the severity of the children’s injuries were not immediately known.
Police said more information would be issued later.
