Fans of The Apprentice have criticized the show, lamenting a “fake” format and saying they have discovered a “clue” that leads them to believe it could be staged.
In the long-running BBC show, Lord Sugar tests the nerves and brains of the business world’s hungriest hopefuls as they compete to win a £250,000 investment from the businessman.
Despite its popularity, eagle-eyed viewers spotted a clue in last night’s episode that seemed to indicate the show isn’t sticking to its script.
On Thursday night’s broadcast of the show, the narrator said that the secretary called at 4am to inform the contestants that they had 20 minutes to prepare and go to meet Lord Sugar at Battersea Power Station.
However, some viewers said this detail takes away from the reality of the show, pointing out that 20 minutes is an extremely short amount of time to look your best when waking up at 4 a.m.

They wrote: ‘No way not to have that! How these women bathe, dress, do their makeup and do their hair in 20 minutes, come on!’
“There’s no way everyone can be ready and groomed in twenty minutes.”
Meanwhile, other fans of the show alluded to the sudden change in light so early in the morning as a reason for hosting the show.
They observed that the call for the house to be ready may come in the early hours of the morning, but the sun shines when they go outside, when it should still be dark outside.
Pointing out this detail, viewers wrote: “When the guys get a phone call at 4am and it’s still dark to say the cars will be outside in 20 minutes, 20 minutes later they come out and it’s broad daylight, someone has the time well ahead.” Synchronization!’
“So @Lord_Sugar’s secretary calls the house at 4am, 20 minutes for those boys, let alone the girls to get ready, and it’s still daylight in the cars.”
‘Why after all these years is #TheApprentice still selling the lie that they get called at 4:30am and have to be ready for the cars in 20 minutes?’
’04:20 call to go to Battersea Power Station. You have 20 minutes to prepare. They come out in broad daylight. Really @Lord_Sugar?’

On Thursday night’s episode, Onyeka Nweze was the latest candidate to be fired after her team lost a big-money challenge.
The candidates were tasked with launching a new Formula E team before putting it forward for sponsorship, and they shocked the boardroom by securing the largest sum in the program’s history.
Multi-million dollar deals were put in jeopardy when disastrous car designs and questionable brands were revealed.
However, Lord Sugar was shocked when the winning team secured sponsorships worth £38.7 million.
As his team lost, Lord Sugar noted that Onyeka’s “lack of spirit” during the task remained a concern, especially after his presentations to bankers failed to win them investment.
