A retiree who documented his journey to weight loss has become an unlikely Instagram star after a woman gave him a shout-out on Twitter – his feed the nicest thing I've ever seen.
David Cookson, from Lancashire, launched his page on September 26, explaining that two stone weight he had already lost, & # 39; crept back & # 39; and he wanted to lose it again.
With a little encouragement from his daughters, the 85-year-old decided to keep up, and thanks to a shout-out of a Twitter user who saw his page, he gathered more than 40,000 followers overnight.

This tasty looking roulade with strawberries and cream was a dessert for the Sunday dinner, with David saying that his two daughters had joined him and that his youngest daughter Betanië had inspired him by another member of Slimming World
The woman with the name Natasha Rodgers had seen the Instagram page of David and made a photo of it saying that this was the cutest thing I've ever seen & # 39;
The post quickly became popular on Twitter with people spitting on how cute David was and that they would follow his story on Instagram
A woman named Natasha Rodgers placed a photo of David's page on Twitter and explained: "Came to the Insta of this 85-year-old man, where he post his slimming world trip and it is perhaps the cutest what I have ever seen[sic]. & # 39;
It quickly grew thousands of likes and retweets when people flew over how sweet David was: "Look at his thumbs up, it's really the best I've seen all year."

David himself placed a picture of himself with a Slimming World recipe book in September while he started his weight loss journey, hoping to lose the two stones he'd gained since he last followed the diet
David smiled in a jiffy and held up a mug with the words & # 39; father rules & # 39; and his late afternoon snack with fresh fruit salad and yogurt, along with an emoji for the thumbs.
David was so happy with his new followers that he sent Natasha a message on Twitter to thank her for sharing his story and added that & # 39; all this support I receive is incredible & # 39;
