Svein Ingvald Opdal, a local politician from Norway's Green Party, took off all his clothes and posted a photo on Instagram of himself naked, showing everything to the cruisers passing by.

The act was "spontaneous" and he did it "mainly for fun," he told state broadcaster NRK.

"We arrived in Olden earlier on Wednesday and immediately found three main cruisers.

"Later we found out that there were 11,000 [cruise ship visitors] In total, and I'm not very excited about these big cruises, "he added.

Later in the week he noticed an increasing number of cruise ships passing and moored in the small town where he has a vacation home.

By Sunday he had enough, and when he saw two new ones arrive, he asked his wife to take a picture from behind, exposing himself to the boats.

While his wife voluntarily took the snapshot, he refused to post it on Instagram or Facebook, so the politician did it himself.

Using the title "I protest", the politician published it on his Instagram.
