A $20 frying pan from Kmart Australia that fans say “does the same job as more expensive varieties” has been crowned the best kitchen product of the year.
The retailer’s ANKO hard anodized nonstick frying pan, available in three sizes: 24cm ($20), 28cm ($24) and 32cm ($27), won the coveted title in the Home/Cookware category at the Product of the Year Awards 2025.
Stainless steel and hard-anodized aluminum cookware with three layers of non-stick interior coating emerged victorious after more than 5,000 shoppers voted for their favorite supermarket and retail products.
And it’s not hard to see why it’s a bestseller.
The nonstick frying pan has received dozens of favorable reviews, with an average rating of 4.8 stars out of 5.
‘Excellent frying pan for the price. Beats some of the most expensive pans in my kitchen,” said one.
‘They are economically priced and do the same job as a more expensive frying pan. “It’s great,” praised another.
‘I recently purchased this pan as part of an upgrade to my cookware and I am very happy with it. They are resistant and very easy to clean. “Excellent quality for people on a budget,” added one.

Many shoppers said the pan range is “excellent value for money”.
“This range of cookware is great for the price,” said one.
However, some noted that the thickness of the pans may take “longer to heat up.”
‘Very thick base and seems to be of excellent quality despite the price. Because of this, it takes a while to heat up. However, I highly recommend it,” one shared.
