A fabric more associated with 1970s fashion is making a surprise comeback.
Autumn has seen suede hit the catwalks of big fashion houses as well as major clothing stores.
Celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Sienna Miller and Hayley Williams have been seen sporting the latest suede must-haves, from boots to hats and jackets.
Designers including Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Miu Miu have incorporated the fabric, once loved by icons like Twiggy and Jane Fonda, into their latest skirts, dresses and jackets.
High Street brands such as Zara and Massimo Dutti have followed suit with their own suede offerings.

Sezane’s suede jacket has been a bestseller and has been worn by the likes of influencer Sofia Richie and the Princess of Wales’ sister-in-law Alizee Thevenet.
“Aside from its soft, tactile appearance, I love the versatility of suede,” said vintage expert Clare Lewis, founder of Retold Vintage. he told The Telegraph.
‘It can be easily dressed up with denim or elevated for a more luxurious look combined with tailoring. “As a naturally breathable fabric, this also makes it a much lighter alternative to leather, meaning it’s a beautiful transitional piece in your wardrobe,” she explained.
Suede is a strong and durable fabric, which means there are many vintage pieces available online on sites like Vinted or in vintage stores.
eBay searches for “suede jacket” have increased more than 260 percent since July.
“There are still a lot of chamois waiting to be found,” Lewis said.
“Definitely explore your local charity shop, vintage shop or online reseller for options.”
Rixo also has a popular suede jacket decorated with a floral design in its Fall-Winter collection.
“Suede has a softer, more feminine feel than leather, and Rixo leans into that aesthetic every season,” Orlagh McCloskey, the brand’s co-founder and creative director, told the Telegraph.

“It’s such a great transitional staple, and the brown tones of suede are our go-to for layering from winter to summer.”
“A way to add suede to your wardrobe without fully committing to a jacket, skirt or dress can breathe life into pieces you already own,” stylist Julia Brennard told the publication.
‘A suede midi skirt can be a fall staple. Wear it with a t-shirt and kitten heels for warmer days or with a chunky sweater and knee-high boots for colder weather.
