Tragedy as a boy, 12, dies in a horror quad accident – as police reveal he wasn’t wearing a helmet

A young boy who was not wearing a helmet died in a fatal quad accident.
Emergency services were called to an accommodation in Alice Springs on Wednesday afternoon after reports of the crash.
The 12-year-old boy was unresponsive and ‘at some distance’ from the quad he was riding on.

Unfortunately, the boy died on the spot.
An NT police spokeswoman confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that the boy was not wearing a helmet at the time.
The investigations continue while a report is being prepared for the coroner.
According to Safe Work Australia, 128 quad bikes have died in the eight years from January 2011 to December 2018.
Eleven percent of the fatalities were tragically children aged 11 or younger.
They warn that children should never ride adult quads and should always wear a helmet.
