Prince Harry returned to the United States to present an NFL award just a day after leaving the United Kingdom following a brief meeting with his cancer-stricken father, King Charles III.

He made a stunning appearance at the 2024 NFL Honors ceremony at the Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas on Thursday night.

The Duke of Sussex presented the Walter Payton Man of the Year award to Pittsburgh Steelers football player Cameron Heyward.

‘I am in shock. That’s Prince Harry,’ he joked as he took the stage to accept the award.

Prince Harry flew to London on a ten-hour flight from Los Angeles on Tuesday, arriving at the royal residence at 2:42 p.m. before spending about 45 minutes with Charles.

Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at the NFL’s annual awards presentation to present the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

Defensive lineman Heyward received the honor from British royalty.

“I want to thank the Pittsburgh Steelers for giving me this opportunity,” he said.

‘Mike T (Tomlin), it’s an honor to be coached by you. I couldn’t play for any other coach. “To my teammates, I’m grateful to be your teammate.”

This was the sixth time the Steelers nominated Heyward for the award. Heyward created the Heyward House Foundation which supports various initiatives in the Pittsburgh area.

The foundation also honors his father, Craig ‘Ironhead’ Heyward, a fullback who played 11 seasons in the NFL. He died in 2006 at age 39 from brain cancer.

The Walter Payton Man of the Year Award is presented to players with a commitment to philanthropy and community impact, as well as excellence on the field.
