A woman has left her fans worried after she moved to a new ‘Atlantis’ colony in Texas with the promise of living in a supposedly free land.
The woman who calls herself Visionary Empress on TikTok said last month she had moved to the desert in the state’s west after a man advertised free land.
“Now I live here,” he said in the video from October 20 while showing the mountainous area. “I’m very grateful to be here.”
She revealed that she would live in a tent and eventually have a garden on the property, owned by a man who calls himself Rebuilding Atlantis on the platform.
The owner said he was creating his own community because “every city I’ve lived in, towns, villages, anywhere in the United States, hasn’t been much fun and I think I could build something much better,” he said. in a August video.
A woman who calls herself Visionary Empress on TikTok announced in late October that she had moved to the desert in West Texas after a man who owns 20 acres there announced that he was allowing people to live for free on his land.
She revealed that she would live in a tent and eventually have a garden on the property, owned by a man who calls himself Rebuilding Atlantis on the platform. She also enjoyed her view of the mountains.
As he continues to build his community, he has provided his residents with water, a basin to bathe in, and a working washing machine.
However, residents will need solar panels for electricity to power their lifestyle.
Many of his followers were quick to say that he was going to end up in a cult that will one day have a Netflix documentary about it.
‘I can’t believe it’s here before Netflix!’ one wrote.
“I’ve never actually seen a prequel to a true crime documentary,” wrote another.
But many were more concerned for their safety, with one writing: ‘I’m scared for you!!!’
‘That seems…dangerous?’ Reckless? Badly thought out? wrote one user.
Many were concerned for his safety before he left Atlantis.
“Check back from time to time… give us a sign if you have problems,” one wrote.
Another simply told him: “Nothing is free.”
Although Visionary Empress posted several videos apparently enjoying her time in Atlantis, including a trip to the US-Mexico border, she announced on Friday that she has abandoned the community.
“It didn’t work out between me and Austin,” he revealed, referring to another man who lived in the community. “Then I won’t go back to Atlantis.”
However, his biggest qualm with Atlantis was the physical work.
“There’s this whole part of life off the grid that requires physical work that I’m not going to do alone,” she said.
