An East Texas teenager has been arrested for capital murder after he shot and killed his parents, sister and brother, who he says were all cannibals with intent to eat him.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the 18-year-old alleged killer told others he “killed his family because they were cannibals and they were going to eat him.”

On Tuesday, in the small town of Nash, Texas, police responded to a report that a man had harmed his family and was threatening to harm himself.

Cesar Olalde then phoned the cops to tell them he “pulled the trigger and shot his family,” according to the affidavit.

After persuading the suspect to turn himself in, authorities found the bodies of his parents, Reuben Olalde and Aida Garcia, as well as Lisbet Olalde, his sister, and Oliver Olalde, his younger brother.

The affidavit stated that “it appeared that the victims were shot at various locations in the residence and drugs in the bathroom”.

Casings were found around the house and blood splatters were found on several surfaces.

According to the document, a colleague of Lisbet had gone to the family home when she failed to show up for work and forced her way inside, where he was confronted by Cesar Olalde, who pointed a gun on him.

The police responded and detained him at the scene.

Olalde is currently being held on a $10 million bond.

Nash is a town of less than 4,000 people located on the western edge of Texarkana, near the Arkansas border.

Robert Ward, a neighbor of the family in the small community, described the victims to the local station KTBS like a ‘nice family’ made up of ‘hard-working’ and ‘extremely kind’ people.

He said Lisbet had recently graduated from college and was planning to become a teacher, and that Cesar, whom he described as “a good boy”, planned to become a plumber.

Ward had known the family for 12 years before the horrific crime happened.

“What surprised me the most was who did it. He was such a good boy,” he said.
