Surveillance footage has captured the moment Janelle Hobbs was ambushed by a pack of stray pit bulls who she says attack when 'someone comes to my gate'

A Texas mother said she and her young family were trapped in their home after a pack of stray pit bulls took over her neighborhood.

Janelle Hobbs said she “can’t even walk out my front door” because a group of four aggressive canines ambush her every time she leaves her Harris County home.

She said she was forced to slip in and out of her garage to avoid the pit bulls, and even had to keep her 20-month-old daughter Ramona inside.

“She is my life, she is my everything,” Hobbs told ABC13. “I would love to take my daughter in a stroller, take her outside, and I’m not even going to do that. It’s terrifying.’

Surveillance footage captured the moment Hobbs was almost attacked by the dogs, an event she said happens all too often when she opens her front door.

“If anyone comes to my gate, they (the dogs) are on it,” she added.

She said she was frustrated by a lack of action from local officials and warned locals to avoid her home.

ABC13 reported that just before her interview, they saw Hobbs warn two women across the street, “You need to go, those dogs are aggressive and will attack.”

In footage Hobbs shared of the pit bulls ambushing her, she was seen running back into the fence before the dogs could reach her.

In another clip, she was seen rushing a neighbor’s dog onto her property, fearing the pit bulls might attack.

Although Hobbs was able to escape the dogs before they got to her, the mother also shared images of a delivery person who wasn’t so lucky.

Within moments of arriving at Hobbs’ door, the delivery driver was attacked by two of the pit bulls – with one of the dogs then biting him on the hand.

Hobbs then said the dogs attack “if anyone comes to my gate.”

She said locals believe the four dogs took over a vacant property across the street and got out through a broken window.

A spokesperson for Harris County Animal Control told ABC13 they have received a number of calls about stray dogs in the Pine Village North neighborhood of Hobbs.

The agency said it had seized one dog a week earlier, but that was the only one they could find.

Hobbs said she was frustrated that officials had not removed all four dogs.

“I hope someone comes and gets them,” she concluded.
