A Texas man has been arrested by the FBI on suspicion of supporting ISIS and planning a 9/11-style terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
Authorities took Anas Said, 28, into custody last week after he allegedly plotted a sickening attack from his Houston apartment.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Douglas Williams said Thursday that Said admitted to investigating how to carry out a terrorist attack, specifically targeting local military recruitment centers.
‘Today is a great day. We have taken a suspected terrorist off the streets of Houston,” Williams said.
Authorities said Said also tried to offer his west Houston apartment to ISIS operatives and produced ISIS propaganda.
At a news conference alongside Williams, Alamdar Hamdani, the U.S. attorney in the Southern District of Texas, said Said is a U.S. citizen but “spent much of his childhood in Lebanon.”

The FBI’s Houston office added in a statement: “We prevented a potential terrorist attack from happening here in Houston. Every day we can say publicly that it is a good day.’
Said is accused of attempting to provide material support to the terrorist group.

He also reportedly bragged that he would carry out a “September 11-style attack” if he had the right resources, and the FBI said he was trying to produce ISIS propaganda.
