Lock your doors at night! There may be a chupacabra loose.!

Amarillo, Texas, city officials are stunned by a humanoid animal seen on zoo surveillance footage last month and they took to social media in their search for answers.

The city tweeted: ‘Is it a person in a funny hat who likes to walk at night? A chupacabra? Do you have any idea what this UAO – Unidentified Amarillo Object could be?’

Residents of Amarillo were quick to provide witty answers, with some weighing it down to be a skinwalker — a Native American mythological shape-shifting creature.

Others suggested it could be the cartoon character Swiper from Dora The Explorer or Sonic the Hedgehog.

John Dough wrote on Twitter: “Swiper of course,” alongside a side-by-side comparison of the beloved childhood character and the creepy zoo bum.

However, Leanne joked that the half-beast was actually insurgent Jacob Chansley, who wore the U.S. Capitol in pants with a furry headdress, outfitted with horns and the American flag painted on his face.

Leanne tweeted: ‘Is this man? [Chansley] on the loose?’

Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in prison in November 2021 for his role in the January 6 riots.

Michael Kashuba, director of Amarillo’s Parks and Recreation Department, said: news week the zoo found the surprising statue while casually going through recent footage with staffers and reported that the creature never made it to the zoo.

The creature was walking near the park, which is located in Thompson Park, early in the morning, at 1.25 am.

“It’s kind of an anomaly, a unique picture,” Kashuba told Newsweek. ‘I’m excited to see the interest in something like this.

“It’s clearly not normal for us. We usually take pictures of our animals walking through exhibits and things like that.’
