Texas A&M is expected to fire coach Jimbo Fisher today, according to multiple reports Sunday morning.
The news comes less than 24 hours after Saturday’s 51-10 win over Mississippi State, bringing its season record to 6-4.
But it clearly wasn’t enough to silence the doubts surrounding Fisher.
According to Yahoo Sports The groundwork for Fisher’s dismissal was laid Thursday after a four-hour meeting, and more talks are planned for Sunday.
His buyout is $75 million with eight years left on his contract. He signed a 10-year, fully guaranteed contract that reportedly pays around $9 million per year.
Since taking over in 2018, Fisher’s record stands at 45-25 at the school.
