Tesla is recalling nearly two million vehicles in the United States over fears of a software glitch that can cause an open hood to go undetected, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday.
An unlatched hood could open completely and obstruct the driver’s view, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall applies to certain 2020 through 2024 Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y vehicles.
Tesla released an over-the-air software update to fix the problem, NHTSA added.
Last month, Tesla said it was recalling most Cybertrucks in the country over issues with the windshield wipers and exterior trim.
