Robert Irwin has been crowned as Australia’s most popular TV talent amid his impressive rise to success as a leading presenter.

The zookeeper, 20, is yet to officially make his debut as a prime-time TV host on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but he has already gained a huge fan base working at Australia Zoo with his famous family.

Now he has achieved a huge feat by beating some of Australia’s biggest names to become the country’s most popular broadcast personality in 2024.

Despite being a relative newcomer to Australian screens, he impressively toppled comedy veteran Hamish Blake from the top spot in the Australian Talent Index’s 2024 Top Talent Report.

In his first ever appearance on the list, he also beat out household names such as Andy Lee, Dr Chris Brown, Sunrise’s Natalie Barr and Sophie Monk in a landslide victory.

Robert was also voted the number one female broadcast talent and considered the most redundant celebrity to the community, according to the Australian Talent Index.

Commenting on the wins, Robert exclaimed: “I am truly thrilled to be honored with the #1 broadcast spot in this year’s Top Talent Report.

“Having an even bigger platform to share my family’s message of conservation means everything to me.”

More than 7,000 Australians were surveyed by Lewers Research to rank more than 400 famous people, earning Robert the winning broadcast score.

The massive feat comes just days before his debut as host of I’m A Celebrity, which is set to premiere on Network 10 on Sunday night.

He has already featured in a series of promotional material for the show alongside returning host Julia Morris, but will make his official debut on the highly anticipated launch show.

Robert beat out big names Sam Pang, Jimmy Rees, Curtis Stone, Beau Ryan and Tristan MacManus for the hosting role.

Robert recently said he decided to take the job to continue the legacy of his famous father Steve Irwin, who tragically died when he was just three years old.

“I love having a real purpose and legacy that I can carry on from my family, and my father in particular, and I can create my own – of wildlife conservation, fun, passion and positivity,” said he declared.
