While you may not want to think about Christmas just yet, Tesco is already firmly focused on the festive season – but this year it’s doing things a little differently.
The UK’s biggest supermarket chain has launched its Christmas range and while it’s packed with festive favourites, it’s also clear that shoppers were keen to diversify.
Of Tesco’s 250 new Christmas products, the standout items are mainly in the ‘Party Food & Cheese’ category.
Customers looking to entertain friends and family can impress their guests this year with Baja fish tacos with yuzu slaw and tomato, pineapple and chilli salsa (£5.50) or mini Nduja Wellingtons with a hint of spicy honey (£5.50).
Baja Fish Tacos feature crispy battered fish accompanied by a spicy yuzu slaw and a tomato, pineapple and chilli salsa, while Nduja Wellingtons combine British pork shoulder and spicy nduja.

Breige Donaghy, Tesco’s Director of Product Development and Innovation, said: “We know our customers have a list of festive favourites that will be returning to shelves, but there are also plenty of exciting new additions that will impress any guest.”
And alongside traditional festive desserts like panettone and Christmas pudding, there are more interesting items like a raspberry and prosecco panna cotta wreath and a snowy Belgian chocolate and sea salted caramel semi freddo.
The Panna Cotta crown is infused with Madagascar vanilla and Italian Prosecco, while the Semi Freddo is made with British whipped cream and mascarpone cheese.
It is filled with a layer of bittersweet Belgian chocolate sauce and slow-baked chocolate meringue.
Other tasty items included in the supermarket’s 2024 range include the Dim Sum Selection (£4.50) and Steamed Buns with Mushrooms (£4.50).
Party food and desserts aside, Tesco’s Christmas collection includes a number of much-loved items, from the Turkey Christmas Dinner Sandwich and Free-Range East Anglian Golden Whole Turkey to Roasted Carrots with Clementine and Honey Glaze and Pigs in Blankets.
With six varieties of tarts and two types of Christmas pudding, the supermarket’s new range will also appeal to those who prefer a more traditional take on Christmas.
The Easy Carve British Free Range Turkey with Pork, Cranberry and Chestnut Stuffing is sure to be a best-seller, while the Scottish Salmon Plait is sure to please those with a preference for seafood.
Butternut Wellington (above right) will make an attractive and tasty vegetable centerpiece.

The new 2024 festive range also includes a wide variety of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Popular drinks such as English sparkling wine, Brut Premier Cru rosé champagne and elderflower spritz are featured alongside non-alcoholic versions of classic cocktails such as the piña colada and mojito.
Tesco is equally eager to please its vegetarian and vegan customers this Christmas and has introduced a number of new takes on traditional products.
The supermarket’s Butternut Wellington will make an attractive and tasty veggie centerpiece, while the Plant Chef Christmas Veg Fest Wrap is a great option for those who want to enjoy a little Christmas cheer on the go.
Those avoiding gluten will be pleased to know that Tesco has added festive treats to its Free From range.
Both the Free From Honeycomb Bauble and the Free From Almond & Orange Mincemeat Slices are made with a gluten-free dough base.
While Tesco is best known for its food and drink offering, the supermarket chain also offers decorations and homewares, helping customers create picture-perfect Christmas displays at home.
Fun Christmas tree decorations include an Abominable Snowman stocking and an assortment of Abominable Snowman ornaments.
Abominable Snowman Christmas firecrackers are also available, as are Grinch decorations and Merry Christmas banners.
Tesco’s F&F range has also had a festive makeover with Christmas tree-shaped serving plates and green and gold tableware on sale.
Tesco’s Christmas range will be available online and in stores from September, with selected centrepieces launching in November and December.
