Terrycloth ‘Road Trip Robes’ come with WiFi, chargers, snacks, a safe and a hot and cold bag

With most Americans avoiding air travel during the pandemic – but some are still desperate to get out of town for a little vacation – road trips quickly become the best and only way to travel during the pandemic.

And to make the experience a lot more comfortable, Hotels.com brings some of the best hotel amenities directly to customers’ cars.

The booking site announced today that 10 lucky customers can get their hands on the very exclusive ‘Road Trip Robes’: luxurious terry cloth hotel coats filled with many snacks, built-in WiFi, a charging station, a hot and cold bag and more fun amenities.

Aside from the cozy white terry cloth, the $ 150 Road Trip robe is unlike any hotel jacket anyone has ever enjoyed on an overnight stay.

It comes with a minibar pouch pre-filled with on-the-go snacks (and towels), including chips and candy.

There’s built-in Wi-Fi to give data plans a break, and even a tech compartment to charge phones or other devices.

Yet another compartment contains a small safe for storing valuables, while an insulated hot and cold compartment is built in to keep lunch warm or to keep drinks (or ice) cold.

The robe also has a mattress chair and a stock of hand sanitizer, as well as a $ 1,500 Hotels.com gift card and a year-long upgrade to Hotels.com gold status.

“As the travel landscape continues to change and the popularity of road trips grow, we want to help travelers live their best hotel life, wherever their adventures take them, however they go,” Josh Belkin, vice president of the hotels .com brand, said in a press release.

“The Road Trip Robe from Hotels.com brings the best of the hotel experience with road trippers from stop to stop.”

The only catch is that only 10 of these special robes have been made – so hopeful people will have to act quickly.

They go on sale on this link on Friday, July 24 at noon ET, and are sure to disappear pretty soon.

The brand opened earlier this year a special temporary hotel suite at the Refinery Hotel in Manhattan, the Hotels.com Bread & Breakfast – that was ‘a carbohydrate wonderland’ filled with bread-themed decor, amenities and of course loads of food, including a pastry mini bar, donut wall and bagel wall.

According to a press release, every detail was thought through from the time guests checked in and received a ‘sweet treat’ with their room key.

The room itself was pumped with bakery scents and decorated with a bread-themed decor, including a wall painting of baked goods on the wall, a neon sign with ‘freshly baked bread’ above the bed and drapery-printed window curtains.

The bed had a headboard shaped like a slice of bread, plus a bread-patterned duvet and pillows shaped like waffles, donuts and pretzels.

The bathroom had a toast theme, mini cinnamon bun soaps, bread themed toiletries, baguette slippers and ‘Carbivore’ robes for guests to take home.

There was also plenty to eat for those who came with an appetite.
