Sam Newman was struck by a series of disasters while sailing his boat.
The media personality has been sailing the high seas for charity, raising funds for the Rule Prostate Cancer organization.
The 78-year-old set out from Queenscliff, Victoria, in May, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing since.
As he heads toward his destination in the Whitsunday Islands, Sam must face a series of trials.
This week, he had to drop anchor and head to Proserpine Hospital in Queensland after being gored by his own drone.
In a social media post, Sam revealed his injured foot, which suffered a deep cut when a gust of wind caused the device to crash into it.
In a fit of rage, he destroyed the drone before heading to the hospital, where his cuts were treated but he did not need stitches.
Last week, Sam faced another emergency when his boat caught fire due to two of the boat’s batteries shorting out.

Newman said he had to “use the extinguisher” but was fighting the smoke to get the blaze under control.
The trip has had its share of drama for the TV star, including “horrendous weather and huge waves of six to seven metres”.
“We had to go into Jervis Bay to make repairs after waves broke a porthole and flooded most of the boat,” Sam said. Herald Sun.
At one point, Sam had to keep water from entering the boat by lying on the bed and holding the porthole closed with his feet.

“It was like we were throwing cream puffs at the town hall. It caused quite a bit of damage to the electrical system and the interior of the boat,” he said.
Sam added: “We’ve had a few other minor issues – a transmission leak, a hydraulic leak from the steering cylinder, we’ve had a couple of hoses burst, we’ve had a little problem with the radar – but we’ve survived.”
She’s traveling with her friend Sue Stanley and it’s not cheap: Sam estimates that the trip is costing her $100,000.
This is Sam’s first long trip on a sailing boat, and although he has owned several boats, this is the first time he has taken them out to sea.
