Terrifying moment when rival gangs shoot each other in broad daylight in Birmingham

Shocking CCTV footage shows the moment when two rival gangs had a fierce firefight in broad daylight that killed a 22-year-old man.

Naasir was shot dead after being chased by Teeko Le, 17, and Darnell Donovan-Harris, 22.

Paramedics took him to hospital with gunshot wounds to the stomach, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

West Midlands police released footage of the gunfight on Friday as Le and Donovan-Harris were jailed for their part in the murder.

The court heard that Le and Donovan-Harris were standing outside shops on Lozells Road when Morgan and Naasir pulled up in their white Lexus.

As Morgan and Naasir got out of their Lexus, they spotted the rival gang members and fled in a passing car of an employee.

They then drove to an address where they got a gun and returned to Lozells Road within minutes.

Footage shows Morgan shooting at the group from a bicycle and Le shooting back.

Morgan jumped back on his bike while Naasir jumped into the Lexus.

As Le and Donovan-Harris chased Morgan, they saw Naasir sitting on the driver’s side of the car and started beating him.

Le then opened fire and shot Naasir who was behind the wheel several times, leaving him with multiple gunshot wounds.

Morgan, still nearby, began firing at Le and Donovan-Harris before jumping back into the Lexus as the pair fled the scene.

Rather than take Naasir to the hospital, Morgan drove off before heartlessly leaving his dying friend on a nearby street where members of the public tried to help him.

Naasir was taken to hospital but could not be rescued despite the best efforts of the emergency services.

An analysis of phone records and CCTV placed each on the scene, and the following days, all three were arrested.

Detective Chief Superintendent Jim Munro, speaking after they were jailed, said: “Unfortunately, this is the tragic reality of what carrying a gun can lead to.

Teeko Le and Morgan chose to carry a pistol in broad daylight and open fire, knowing that one of them could be killed instantly.

“And unfortunately that’s what happened to Naasir.

‘Naasir’s death is such a waste of life, not only Naasir’s life but also a young man and a teenager who will spend a long time in prison.

“My thoughts remain with Naasir’s family at this difficult time.”
