Surveillance video captured a singer’s final moments of life as he waited to enter a venue in Colombia before a gunman shot and killed him.
The victim could be seen checking his smartphone while two men stood behind him checking their own phones across the street from the establishment in Bogota on Wednesday night.
The singer put away his phone and waved his hand toward the suspect as he walked toward the entrance of the venue.
The shooter then pulled a gun from his belt, approached the singer and shot him several times as bystanders fled the scene.

He momentarily stood over the singer and appeared to fire another shot and ran away while firing several shots into the air.
The Bogotá Metropolitan Police did not reveal the name or age of the singer, who was known for performing vallenato songs in local venues in the Colombian capital.
However, Police Chief Ruben Perez told City TV that investigators were successful in uncovering the identities of the shooter and two accomplices.
“We have fully identified those who committed the crime,” Perez said.
‘There are three citizens and one of them is the one who shot him. Work has been done that will surely be successful.’
The killing comes as authorities struggle to contain a wave of murders that will likely surpass figures for 2023, according to data released by Bogotá’s Metropolitan Police.
Bogota Police Mayor Ruben Perez told City TV that investigators have been able to identify at least three people linked to the murder of a local singer on Wednesday night.

At least 732 homicides were recorded in the first eight months of 2024, compared to 697 murders recorded in the same period last year.
Data shows that 46 percent of murders have been committed by hitmen.
Suspects used guns, knives or machetes to commit 50 percent of the murders.
The Bogota Ministry of Security found that 40 percent of the victims were linked to organized crime, drug trafficking, extortion, were members of criminal groups or had criminal records.
To combat crime, the Bogotá Metropolitan Police increased patrols in at least 60 areas, including Santa Ana, where the singer was executed.
