Terrifying moment when a HAMMER ‘flies out of traditional ute’ and smashes an elderly driver’s windshield while traveling at 100 km/h on a highway

  • Hammer hit windshield while driver drove 100 km/h on highway
  • Driver was traveling south on Pacific Highway at Bangalow NSW
  • Social media users divided on where the mysterious hammer came from

This is the terrifying moment when a hammer was thrown from another vehicle and slammed into an elderly man’s windshield while he was traveling at 100 km/h.

The driver was traveling south on Pacific Motorway in Bangalow, 20 minutes southwest of Byron Bay, at 6:45 PM on May 19, when his car was hit.

Dashcam footage of the impact showed the tool appeared to come out of nowhere when it suddenly slammed into the windshield.

‘[The hammer smashed] against my grandfather’s windshield driving at 100 km/h [seemingly] out of nowhere,” wrote the driver’s grandson.

“End result was happy that everything was fine, but very shocked by the events that unfolded.”

The hammer was seen flying from the front of the vehicle before hitting the right side of the window and shattering the glass.

Social media users were divided on where the hammer came from.

‘Looks like it was thrown out of the sunroof’ [of the truck in front]one person suggested.

Another person thought it might be someone hiding in a nearby bush.

“Slow it down and go frame by frame, and you can see the hammer was thrown by someone hiding in the medium,” they said.

“The hammer was launched from the front of the truck. It didn’t come out of the back of the truck.’

One commentator had a startling theory, suggesting that God of thunder Thor—played by Chris Hemsworth in the Avenger movies—mistaken an ordinary hammer for Mjollnir, the magical weapon that flies back to him.

‘Damn Hemsworth not again! He must understand that these hammers are not coming back like Mjolnir,’ they joked.
