A new video captured the heart-stopping moment a truck driver abandoned his massive truck moments before it was hit by a train.
In the footage, the stopped truck sits on both sides of the tracks as a railroad crossing signal flashes red in the dark of the night.
Horns are heard as the locomotive rapidly approaches the vehicle, leaving the driver inside with no choice but to abandon the truck.
In the clip, the truck’s door opens before the desperate driver climbs out of his cab and runs for cover.

A new video captured the heart-stopping moment in which the driver is seen running away from his truck moments before a train crashed into the truck.
In the images, the trapped truck is on both sides of the train tracks. It’s night and the railroad crossing signal is flashing red.
The truck explodes into pieces of flying debris, sending shards of metal and wood flying into the air dozens of feet.
For a moment, dust obscures the mangled truck, before thinning to reveal chunks of wood and chunks of metal scattered along the road.
The train makes a screeching noise when it tries to stop, but it moves too fast and continues moving down the track.
A few moments later, the train finally comes to a complete stop, at which point the man recording the video exits the car and approaches the locomotive.

Then the dust dissolves and pieces of wood and pieces of metal can be seen scattered along the road.
“This train just hit this truck,” he says, as the train signal blares in the background and the red light continues to flash.
After finding the trucker, the camera man asks:
—Are you okay, man?
The nervous trucker responds breathlessly:
“What happened was I was trying to back up and (the train signal barrier) fell on top of the truck.”
“I thought, ‘Oh, the train is coming.'”
The man recording the video explains to the driver that he tried to get his attention by honking.
He then walks towards the overturned truck and films its badly damaged trailer, before the video jumps forward to show a fleet of fire trucks and other emergency vehicles parked along the narrow road.
The broken pieces of the truck lay scattered across the road.
The man who recorded the video was parked several meters behind the truck at the intersection.
He later said his own car was “hit with a lot of debris.”
He added: “Everyone was fine except the truck… Thank God (the driver) managed to get out of the truck!”
