A diner was caught putting his hands down his pants as part of a stomach-churning method to try and score a free meal.
The man in the strange footage could be seen sitting alone in a restaurant in Qinhuangdao, China, after ordering a plate of oysters.
But before tasting his fishy meal, he is seen hurriedly lifting his shirt while frantically looking around.
He quickly shoves his hands down the front of his pants and, with a grim tug, pulls out some of his pubic hair.
Looking at his work under the table, he surreptitiously glances around once more before reaching out to select an unfortunate oyster.
A man was seen removing his pubic hair from his pants while dining at a restaurant in Qinhuangdao, China.
Disgusting footage showed the man spraying his oyster with his pubic hair in a bid to get a refund from the restaurant.
The customer started making a fuss while trying to blame the restaurant staff for his hairy oyster.
Quickly sprinkle the peel with the hairs and stir the contents with a set of chopsticks from the table.
Once he’s happy with his hairy oyster, he looks around in apparent disgust and calls the restaurant owner to make his bold complaint.
The man then started causing a fuss at the restaurant, insisting that he had found someone else’s hair on his plate.
According to local reports, the owner refunded the customer for his meal out of embarrassment, but then became suspicious of the man and quickly reviewed CCTV footage of the diner.
He was stunned by what he saw as he watched the moment the man secretly covered his plate with his pubic hair.
The owner then reported the incident to local police and requested payment, but the customer allegedly refused to return the money.
The owner said: ‘I thought about going to the police station to get the money back for the food I had eaten, but despite asking him, he wouldn’t give it to me.
I just wanted a free meal. At that time he told us it was hair so I agreed to refund the full bill and he also agreed,” he added.
It is not known if the police managed to catch the client or if he faces legal consequences for the disturbing incident.
The video spread on the Chinese social network Weibo and provoked an avalanche of comments from upset users.
One of them commented: “These repeat offenders of extortion should be reported to public security organs and severely punished in accordance with the law, as long as there is conclusive evidence.”
Another said: “Shameful.”
Another added: “If a customer doesn’t pay, call the police station immediately.”
The clip has racked up more than 140,000 views since it was posted on March 5.
