Kellie Finlayson has shared a heartbreaking update on her battle with cancer.

The social media influencer, who is married to AFL star Jeremy Finlayson, visited her oncologist on Tuesday and was told her cancer is growing again.

Kellie, 28, has battled bowel and lung cancer after being diagnosed in November 2021 following the birth of the couple’s daughter, Sophia.

She underwent several surgeries and chemotherapy after learning the news that her initial stage 3 diagnosis had been changed to stage 4.

In January of this year, Kellie began another six-month round of chemotherapy, but her husband indicated that his wife has stopped her chemotherapy and radiation treatments and has now placed her trust in alternative medicine.

On Tuesday, Finlayson confirmed that he will most likely have to undergo another round of chemotherapy after his surgeon told him they need to act quickly.

“Unfortunately, cancer, especially recurrent cancer, grows very quickly, so once we see even a millimetre of growth on a scan over a couple of months, we know that means it’s growing and that means we need to act on it,” she said in a video she posted on TikTok.

‘Normally when I leave a meeting with my oncologist, he tells me that we are happy to watch and wait. That is not the case today. Next week I am seeing a surgeon and also a radiation therapist, just to know all my options before potentially starting chemotherapy again.

‘I think I’m one of the lucky ones because we know that chemo works very well for me, but any chemo is crap and it’s not what I want to do.’

Before her appointment with the oncologist, Kellie admitted she was nervous about her prognosis.

“My tests were good, they’re not stable anymore, but they’re okay considering the situation. I’m trying to figure out what the next steps are. I haven’t shared anything about this in a long time, but I feel like I’m going to start sharing more again because I know how beneficial it can be for those going through their own journey, as much as I hate that word,” she said.

The video continued, showing Kellie in the doctor’s waiting room before she walked out and said “fuck my life” to the camera.

Kellie has previously said that both chemotherapy and alternative therapies have worked to slow the spread of her cancer, which “100 per cent” robbed her of her first year of motherhood with Sophia.

“I’ve entered early menopause. I don’t know if I’ll be able to recover from it,” she said in March last year.

‘Honestly, that was my biggest struggle, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to give Sophia siblings, which is very difficult. We had always planned to have a big family.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted. It was the hardest pill to swallow of all the ones I’ve taken in the last 18 months.”

Port Adelaide star Finlayson says the turmoil of recent years has taken its toll and affected his football career.

“I’ve tried to keep a good face despite everything,” he said.

“I just see how strong Kellie is and I try to be her support and put a smile on her face on the football field for her and Soph.”

Kellie has continued to be a beacon of positivity throughout her treatment.

She is determined to enjoy the most of her remaining life and looks forward to seeing as many milestones as possible in her daughter Sophia’s development.

“As long as it (the cancer) remains under control, I feel I have the potential to live a long time. I could see Sophia’s 21st birthday!” she told News Corp.

“I look forward to seeing her on her first day of school. That’s still years away, but it’s more than I expected when I first heard the diagnosis.”
