Tense moment: Two drunken passengers are kicked off a flight to Bali after ‘swearing and joking about BOMBS’, leaving 100 travelers stranded, as one of the men candidly reveals what prompted his behaviour.

  • Two men stop flight in Bali
  • 100 people were punished
  • The Perth couple have no regrets

Around 100 passengers were stranded when their flight to Bali was canceled because two men had to be thrown out for swearing and joking about “bombs”.

An entire AirAsia flight was preparing to take off from Perth on Tuesday when the couple, aged 28 and 29, created such a ruckus that security guards were called to remove them from the plane.

Footage taken by other passengers shows the rowdy men confronting guards in the aisle of the plane.

‘Get your hands off me,’ says one of the men.

“Don’t start or I’ll slap you,” warns a guard.

‘Don’t push just take a deep breath.’

One of the men being escorted off the AirAsia flight to Bali can be seen clutching a bottle of alcohol.

As the two unruly men are escorted out of them, they are applauded by those seated.

Passenger Anna Gunzburg said the men were visibly affected by alcohol even before boarding the flight.

“They were obviously drunk even before going into the tunnel,” he said.

They were drinking from the bottle. That was a joke.’

Connor O’Kill, another passenger on the ill-fated flight, said the men were causing more trouble than just being loud.

“Then they started cussing and saying things and talking about bombs on the plane,” he said.

Unfortunately, the entire incident left the rest of the passengers sitting on the tarmac for three hours before the flight was cancelled.

When asked about his behavior after being kicked off the plane, one of the men was unrepentant.

The two men, aged 28 and 29, were unapologetic when a Seven News reporter approached them while they were sitting at the airport bar after being kicked off the plane.

Asked what explained his behavior, one man said: “I drank a bottle of Jameson’s (Irish whiskey), that was enough.”

He went on to state that he “wasn’t abusing anyone.”

“I wasn’t being rude to anyone, I was just a little drunk,” he said.

“If they had taken off the plane, I would have fallen asleep and everyone would be in Bali.”

His partner wasn’t embarrassed either.

“I’m going to jump on the next plane,” he said matter-of-factly.

The couple was fined $500 each for their antics.
