Nervous moments caught on video showed a plane carrying Grammy Award-winning singer Karol G making an emergency landing at a Southern California airport after reports of smoke in the cabin.

Karol G, real name Carolina Giraldo Navarro, is a Colombian singer who has released four platinum albums since 2017.

The 33-year-old man was seen getting off the plane Thursday night at Van Nuys Airport after what was called a “mid-air emergency.”

The singer was flying on her private plane, which is decorated with the barbed wire heart tattoo on her arm.

The plane took off from Burbank Airport on Thursday with 16 passengers and crew members on board.

No details about the flight are yet known, other than that it was “flying east.”

The pilot reported the smoke problem when the plane reached Cajon Pass, about 70 miles to the east.

The plane made a soft landing around 9 p.m. local time at Van Nuys Airport, about 15 miles west of where they took off.

The singer is currently in the middle of a Latin American tour with no stops planned in the United States.

He was due to appear on Friday night in Guatemala. It is unclear if the show will go on as planned.

It came just hours after smoke was reported in the cabin of an American Airlines flight leaving New York’s LaGuardia Airport bound for Chicago on Thursday morning. USA Today reported.

No injuries were reported and local fire and emergency medical services crews were able to bring the situation under control.

Navarro has won five Latin Grammy Awards and four Billboard Music Awards.

Their most recent album was the first Spanish-language album to debut at the top of the English-language Billboard 200 charts.
