Tennis legend Martina Navratilova can’t believe the giant bandage on Donald Trump’s ear at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee following the failed assassination attempt on the former president in Pennsylvania over the weekend.

Responding to a comment on X, the winner of 18 major individual titles described Trump’s bandage as a “PR stunt,” drawing criticism from conservatives online.

Specifically, Navratilova was accused of downplaying the attempt on Trump’s life.

“An ungrateful comment that does you no favors,” wrote an Englishman on X.

The LGBTQ+ icon then repeated the false claim that Trump was seen golfing after the failed assassination attempt.

Trump’s ear bandage has been a major topic of conversation at the Republican National Convention taking place in Milwaukee.

“The day before I was wearing nothing or a small band-aid that no one could see while playing golf,” he wrote on X. “My stance on any kind of violence and also on guns is quite clear and has no favoritism. Thank you.”

The photo Navratilova was referring to was revealed to have been taken in 2022.

The 67-year-old Prague native is not the only one suspicious of the large white bandage Trump is wearing on his right ear, where he was apparently shot on Saturday. A TMZ report claimed the blood on Trump’s ear was the result of the glass of a teleprompter being shattered in the shooting, which killed one bystander but failed to bring down the former president.

“A good friend of mine is the head nurse (level IV nurse) at a major trauma center in a big city,” Navratilova’s original comment read. “She says there is absolutely no need to bandage an ear wound like this unless half of her ear was blown off. And even then, it wouldn’t look like this.”

Navratilova also suspects that Trump was not actually hit by the bullet, despite the former president’s claims to the contrary.

‘Correction: There was a heinous assassination attempt and the bullet grazed the pointer and a fragment of it hit Trump’s ear.

“The next day he played golf with no visible damage,” he continued, again referencing the debunked photo from 2022. “And after that he put the bandage on for the convention…”

The extent of Trump’s injuries has not been made public. His campaign has declined to discuss his condition or release a medical report related to the shooting.

On his own social media platform, Trump claimed that a bullet hit him in the ear.

“I knew immediately something was wrong because I heard a whistling sound, gunshots, and immediately felt the bullet go through my skin,” he wrote.
