Baby Elliett, 1 year old at the time, took her first steps while celebrating her birthday with her family.

A Tennessee family obsessed with the adorable moment a baby took his first steps almost missed a toddler walking with a giant knife.

Chattanooga’s Courtney Gaylord was just trying to capture a touching memory with her baby and family, but a TikTok she posted revealed the instance was much more chaotic than that.

In the shocking video, Gaylord’s family trained the baby as she stumbled through her first steps.

But the video took an unexpected turn when a little boy entered the scene while kicking a large, sharp kitchen knife.

The caption of the post humorously reads: “I mean, all I really wanted was the leftover frosting, can you blame him?”

Gaylord explained the strange situation to news weeksaying that as a stay-at-home mother of two, she doesn’t see her Indiana family very often. But they were able to get together to celebrate their daughter Elliett’s first birthday.

She told the outlet: “We live five hours away from the family, so when we all get together, it’s always a big celebration.”

Since the family was finally together, it seemed like there was no better time to try to transition Elliett from Gaylord’s cousin to his sister.

As this exciting moment unfolded, Gaylord’s nephew, Brady, 3 years old at the time, showed up and stole the show.

Gaylord told Newsweek: “I was trying to get the knife so I could lick some frosting off the birthday cake.”

“We didn’t realize.”

Elliett's cousin Brody, 3 years old at the time, stole the show when he walked into the video frame licking frosting off a giant, sharp knife.

Brady was apparently holding the knife until he entered the frame of the video, when his family finally saw what he was doing.

Gaylord spoke to Newsweek about the video’s release: “We shared it because we still laugh at it to this day and the fact that we had it on camera, so I thought other people might laugh at it, too.”

The TikTok comments section is filled with viewers finding the moment absolutely hilarious.

One user wrote: ‘OMG! You might want to reconsider what you use to spread the frosting! Ha ha ha!’

Another comment says: ‘Hahaha at least he didn’t cut his tongue!!! He was living his best life eating the best snacks!’

Although this story could have been horrible, Gaylord and his family had a laugh as they ended up capturing two incredible moments and no one was hurt.

Now, two years after the video was filmed, Gaylord happily reported that Elliett is a pro-walker and that her family is still very close.
