Two students were killed and one injured in a shooting at a high school cafeteria in Tennessee on Wednesday.

The horror happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday at Antioch High School, with the gunman opening fire on two people before turning the gun on himself.

The shooter and one of his victims are the two people who died. A second victim is in hospital and in stable condition.

None of the students involved have been identified and their ages have not been shared.

Terrifying footage showed the shooting unfolding in the cafeteria, as gunshots and screams echoed through the lunchroom.

You see an unknown cameraman get closer to the scene of the shooting and say, “Oh, he shot himself.”

The edge of what appears to be a person lying on the tile floor is briefly visible before the clip ends.

“Antioch High School is on lockdown due to shots being fired into the school building. Metro Police are on scene,” according to a statement from Metro Nashville Public Schools.

“The person responsible for the shooting no longer poses a threat. We gather the students in the auditorium and provide information about the reunification as soon as possible.

The students all suffered injuries, although police have not detailed the severity of their conditions

“This is an active crime scene and investigation. We will work with the MNPD to provide further updates as they become available.”

Chante Frye, whose daughter is in ninth grade at the school, said she received a text message from the youngster saying she was locked in her classroom.

“But it’s almost not surprising because it’s getting worse and worse with the fighting and violence at school,” Frye said. The Tennessean.

Local lawmaker John Ray Clemmons, whose district includes the school, called the shooting an “unspeakable tragedy.”

Metro Nashville police said the incident is under investigation.

Antioch High School serves approximately 2,000 students in grades nine through twelve.

Buses will transport students to 3754 Murfreesboro Pk, where their parents have been instructed to pick them up.
