Tenacious D singer Kyle Gass has been fired from his talent agency following his tasteless comments about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

The 64-year-old said he wished Trump’s would-be assassin hadn’t missed the band’s show in Sydney on Sunday.

His partner Jack Black had brought him a birthday cake and asked him to make a wish, and he replied: “Next time don’t miss Trump.”

Greene Talent has revealed that it has parted ways with Gass and no longer represents him, according to TMZ.

This comes after the 54-year-old Black actor announced on Tuesday that he had canceled the comedy band’s tour and that all creative plans were on hold.

Musician Gass made the comments as the band celebrated his 64th birthday on stage.

The crowd responded mostly with cheers and laughter, with only a few disappointed reactions.

The School of Rock actor later issued a statement to say he was shocked by the comments and that the tour would no longer go ahead.

“What was said on Sunday’s show has left me stunned. I would never tolerate hate speech or encourage political violence in any form,” Black told DailyMail.com in a statement.

“After much consideration, I no longer believe it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour and all future creative plans are on hold. I thank the fans for their support and understanding.”

Her decision comes just a month after Black, 54, delivered a speech at a star-studded fundraiser in Los Angeles for President Joe Biden, where she said “democracy was at stake” in the November election.

Gass also issued his own statement on Tuesday, writing: “The line I improvised on stage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake.

‘I do not condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone.

“What happened was a tragedy and I am deeply sorry for my grave lack of judgment. I deeply apologize to those I have disappointed and I sincerely regret any pain I have caused.”

Black’s reaction to the incident comes just a month after he delivered a speech at a star-studded fundraiser in Los Angeles for President Joe Biden, where he said “democracy was at stake” in the November election.

Democrats have been criticized for raising the political temperature in the United States by claiming that a Trump presidency would be a threat to democracy.

In June, Black’s speech at a Los Angeles fundraiser, which raised more than $30 million, was widely praised in liberal media.

The fundraiser was also attended by former President Barack Obama and actors George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Barbra Streisand.

Black and his band were on the Spicy Meatball Tour, which began in May and is set to end on July 26, 2024.

Following the shooting that killed a bystander on Saturday, investigators were searching for clues about what may have driven 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks to carry out the shocking attack.

The FBI said it was investigating it as a possible act of domestic terrorism, but the lack of a clear ideological motive on the part of the man shot dead by the Secret Service has led to conspiracy theories flourishing.

The FBI said it believes Crooks, who had bomb-making materials in the car he drove to the rally, acted alone.
