I bought $18 headphones from a cheap website that everyone has been talking about, and trust me, they’re just as good, if not better, than Apple’s $160 AirPods.
- The buyer bought $18 headphones from Temu e-commerce platform
- He claims that the quality is as good as Apple Airpods.
- He’s only had them four months but so far he’s happy with the sound
Saying I was skeptical when I paid only $18 for a pair of AirPods clones of the new Chinese drop shipping website ‘Temu’ is an understatement.
In fact, I ordered on a whim with a sinking feeling that I was wasting my money on this new shopping platform that has been riddled with reviews and controversial opinions since its launch.
Despite this, I took the plunge.
Temu is one of those sites that urges you to purchase other items to go along with your purchase at drastically reduced prices. Safe to say I fell for this at checkout and my order was $30 total.
But don’t ask me what else I bought; I seriously can’t remember, which tells you that Temu is as hit or miss as any other shopping portal on the internet, and very similar to the eCommerce site Shein.
One shopper raved about these $18 Lenovo headphones from Temu e-commerce platform
‘Temu is one of those sites that urges you to purchase other items to go along with your purchase at drastically reduced prices. Safe to say I fell for this at checkout and my order was actually $30 total,” he said.
However the headphones I definitely remember because I use them daily and have done so for four months without any problems.
They keep telling me, “They can’t be as good as genuine Apple AirPods”… so how good do AirPods have to be?
The sound in these Lenovo brand think more The earbuds are transparent, the connection between the phone and the pods is solid, and they stay charged for much longer than expected.
I am frequently away from my phone and the connection remains through walls and even outside my house or car.
What is Temu and is it reliable?
Seems like Temu (tee-moo) is the buzzword on everyone’s lips right now.
The Chinese e-commerce website/app, which launched in 2022, is like Wish and Shein in that it offers all sorts of products in tech, housewares, and fashion at unbelievably cheap “too good to be true” prices. “.
Because the products are made in China, the prices are exceptionally low. They also use reverse marketing whereby they only sell products that they know are popular with customers at the time.
The company claims to leverage an “ecosystem” of vendors, logistics providers, and fulfillment partners to curate products from global vendors, manufacturers, and brands.
They also claim to have a zero-tolerance policy against counterfeiting and impose heavy penalties on violators; however, reviews for some products have been less than positive.
Temu works with DHL, Australia Post, PFLogistics, DPEX and FAST HORSE EXPRESS to ensure fairly fast delivery times so delays are rarely an issue.
Bottom line: This is a legitimate store/app; however, like anything very cheap, you have to accept that the quality may suffer in the process.
“I keep getting told, ‘They can’t be as good as genuine Apple AirPods’… so how good do AirPods have to be?” He said
Apple AirPods cost at least $160. These it costs $18. If you’ve never used the original Apple version, the choice seems easy to me’
The biggest problem I have is trying to disconnect them when I want to talk to someone on the phone directly, rather than through the pods.
The only way to disconnect seems to be by turning off the iPhone’s Bluetooth connection.
That may not be the case, but the instruction booklet they came with had such incredibly small writing that I haven’t been able to read it.
