Riyad Mahrez’s wife Taylor Ward complained she was “going to be the biggest bum” because she couldn’t wear nails or eyelashes after moving to Saudi Arabia.

The 26-year-old, daughter of Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn and former Premier League player Ashley, admitted her difficulties acclimatising to the culture in the Middle East following her husband’s shock decision.

In a new Amazon documentary it was revealed that Ward was preparing for her wedding to Mahrez before her transfer was announced, which turned her life upside down when they had to leave their hometown of Manchester.

While touring a wedding venue, she told her friends: “No eyelashes, no nails, I’ll be the biggest bum when I get home and they won’t even recognize me.”

The British model also said she had been “scared” after being told at the Saudi Arabia hotel that only men could use the pool, even though she doesn’t like swimming or getting her hair wet.

Married To The Game, which launched today on Amazon, has given access to the lives of the wives and girlfriends of some of the biggest names in football, including Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan and Arsenal star Jorginho, to name a few .

In the first two episodes, viewers get a glimpse of Ward’s farewell party that she threw for Mahrez when he left town to join Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia last summer.

Throughout the series, Ward talks about not wanting to move to Saudi Arabia, including how difficult it was to find a house and his shock at the change in culture.

Ward reveals in episode one: “I’ve told Riad from the beginning that what scares me the most is him moving abroad. “I’ve always lived in Manchester.

“Luckily, Riyadh plays in Manchester, so I never had to move. My biggest fear is having to move to another country, make new friends and be away from my family.”

But later in the episode, Mahrez’s move to Saudi Arabia is confirmed and Ward’s life is turned upside down when he plans to leave Manchester with his daughter Mila.

She explains: ‘I’ve just heard the news that we’re moving, so obviously this wasn’t planned. Riyadh has already left, Mila and I are obviously still here in Manchester at the moment, but it won’t be long before we move.

‘I guess that’s the brutal thing about football. There’s literally no warning. There’s so much to think about and I haven’t even had a minute to comprehend the news, let alone start organizing it all and making a plan for the future.’

“Most people when they move, they have planned to move or want to move, so they think about these things before they do it, but that’s not the case for us, it’s like it was literally dumped on me. I never thought that this “That would be the situation we would be in.”

The British model was preparing for her wedding to Mahrez, but the winger’s shock move to the Middle East prompted a change of plans when she revealed she wanted to throw a separate party to celebrate their happy memories in England.

While preparing for Mahrez’s farewell party, she admits she got “scared” after the hotel in Saudi Arabia told her only men could use the pool.

She explains: ‘I had a little breakdown. She just hit me. I know it’s stupid. I don’t even like swimming, I don’t like getting my hair wet.

‘I’m not even worried about swimming, it’s just reality, you don’t move to Spain or anywhere else, it’s a very different way of life.

“I didn’t even realize when Riyadh first told me you couldn’t drink there.”

Breaking down into tears, she adds: “I feel like everyone is going to be everywhere.” It will be very difficult. Life is going to be very different. It’s not that I don’t like it, I just don’t have a choice.

Ward then reveals that Mahrez is living in a hotel because they haven’t found a new home. “I didn’t want us to go out there when we were in a very small hotel room; it’s too hot right now to go out,” she says.

And obviously we don’t really know the area. So I’m going to go back and forth for a while until we have a stable place to move.

‘I don’t think people understand the stress involved. I think it’s much easier for the kids than it is for us. They move to Saudi Arabia, they move to a football club and they have friends.

“For me, for example, you literally have to start over in a different country or place where you don’t know anyone and it’s not always easy to make friends and adapt.”

In episode two, she talks about how her husband broke the news to her that they were leaving their hometown of Manchester. “Riyadh called me and basically told me we were moving to Saudi Arabia, which is crazy,” she said.

‘When he called me to tell me the news, it had already appeared in the press. Everyone knew, I had people texting me, even close friends saying, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me.

‘I found out at the same time as everyone else, I had no idea. I literally turned off my phone for two days.

‘I can’t tell people the news if I haven’t understood it myself, it was a big shock. It was very stressful. We don’t even have a house, I don’t know where we are going to live, I haven’t even been to Saudi Arabia.’
