Teens livestream themselves allegedly joyriding in stolen Uber during QLD crime spree

Three teens live-streamed themselves bragging about how they allegedly held a knife to an Uber driver’s throat and stole his car during a crime spree.

Several videos show passengers in a vehicle speeding through the streets of South East Queensland after an alleged carjacking at a petrol station in Brisbane, Hamilton, at about 2am on Tuesday.

Queensland Police will allege a man, 18, and two teenage girls, 15 and 16, went on a rampage for a day, stealing two cars, trying to break into a Gold Coast home and trying to buy items with a stolen credit card.

The group has been hit with assault, robbery, unlawful use of motor vehicles and unlawful access to a motor vehicle once each after being apprehended in Inala at 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday with road spikes in an allegedly stolen vehicle.

A video posted to social media reportedly shows a girl bragging about how she stole an Uber driver’s white Toyota Camry with a knife and showing off guns for the camera.

‘W“He hijacked an Uber,” you hear a girl say.

“I don’t even know why we’re putting on gloves, because our prints are already in the car.”

Another man in the car is heard gloating about having just been released from prison the day before.

“Well, I mean, I got out yesterday and I’m already on the run my boy,” he said.

Police will also claim that a gold Toyota FJ Cruiser was also stolen in Paddington at 11.50am with both vehicles heading towards the Gold Coast on the M1 at around 3am.

A photo was uploaded to social media showing the allegedly stolen cars side by side.

Police allege the teens also drove to a gas station in Nerang on the Gold Coast and attempted to purchase gift cards using the Uber driver’s credit card.

The gas station employee suspected the card had been stolen and refused their request.

At about 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a Helensvale resident called police and said someone was trying to break in and they may have been armed with a firearm.

Police allege the suspects arrived and departed in the stolen gold Toyota FJ Cruiser.

“At 4:55 pm today, the police successfully deployed a tire deflating device on Inala Avenue in Inala,” the police said.

“The Toyota FJ Cruiser crashed into a park pole and the three teenagers were found nearby a short time later.”

However, the Toyota FJ Cruiser was recovered in the arrests white Toyota Camry with Queensland registration 021SPG has yet to be found.

The 18 year old man will appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on Thursday and the teenage girls will appear in Richlands Childrens Court.
