A teenager who was mauled by a wolf as a baby has said his neighbors and schoolmates shun him as a “ghost child.”

Amrish, 18, from India, was left with a large scar on his face and two of his lower teeth protruding from his mouth after a wolf attacked him as a five-month-old baby.

He said that now he is unable to eat properly and is often shunned by neighbors and other children and called a “ghost child” because they are afraid of him.

He added: ‘Children and people are afraid of me. Because of this, I didn’t even get admission to the school before.’

Amrish also said that her family could not afford plastic surgery to help with the scars because it would cost too much.

But he added: “My friends love me very much and always take care of me.”

His mother took him to where he was working in some fields the day he was attacked by the wolf.

He turned around during a break while working and suddenly saw a wolf ‘eating’ Amrish’s face.

He was taken to a nearby government hospital in Madhya Pradesh, India, where doctors were able to save his life.

He later underwent surgery on his face in 2012, but was still left with visible scars and has to wear a mask.
