A teenager has reportedly been stabbed in a busy Melbourne shopping centre as a police helicopter patrolled the area amid fears a knife-wielding man is now on the run.
A major police operation is underway at Woodgrove Shopping Centre in Melton West after reports a child was stabbed multiple times outside the food court.
The child’s condition is unknown.
Victoria Police is expected to make an announcement about the incident later on Tuesday.
The incident comes after the mall was closed earlier this year after a fight broke out between two groups of youths armed with machetes and a butcher knife.
