A teenager has been charged with terrorism offences over an alleged plot to attack a school in Brisbane's north.

A teenager has been charged with terrorism offences over an alleged plot to attack a school in Brisbane’s north.

A 16-year-old boy was allegedly trying to buy firearms online with the intention of carrying out an attack, according to the Courier Mail.

The Queensland Joint Counter Terrorism Team has charged the boy with one count of acts done in preparation or planning of terrorist acts.

He appeared in Brisbane Youth Court on August 17.

The maximum penalty for this crime is life imprisonment.

There is reportedly no current threat to public safety.
