A 13-year-old student slit the throat of his classmate and injured at least four people during an attack with a hammer, a knife and an air gun in Russia this morning.
Suspect Roman G was arrested after the brutal attack, in which a pupil entered the school in Chelyabinsk and began “randomly beating his classmates”.
A girl was rushed to hospital in a serious condition and was undergoing life-saving surgery after her throat was slit and her head hit with a hammer.
A second girl was also undergoing emergency surgery and several others were injured during the attack.
Hours before the incident, he had posted a message on social media in which he said that “Putin has enslaved the population” and accused the dictator of “Nazism.” Investigators are still trying to understand the motive for the brutal attack.

The Baza media outlet reported that the suspect “arrived at the school all dressed in black in the middle of the first lesson, but did not go directly to the classroom, but instead walked past and headed to the bathroom.

The alleged attacker, identified as Roman G, was finally arrested by the National Guard at Remedial School Number 68 and taken to a psychiatrist.
Four people were initially reported injured, including a 13-year-old girl who is expected to be placed in an induced coma.
The seriously injured girl, named Valeria E, was reportedly undergoing surgery in an attempt to save her life.
The four people injured in the attack, including the teacher, two girls and a boy, were taken to hospital.
Biology teacher Nina Shoshina, 57, was injured as she tried to restrain the boy and protect her children at the school in the Urals city of Chelyabinsk.
The teacher from the hospital said the attacker “ran into the biology room five minutes before the end of class.”
“He had a gun and a hammer in his hand. He didn’t say anything, he just screamed.”
Lenta reported that the boy had brought a BB gun to class.
The National Guard was called in to arrest a suspect, while an ambulance took the victims to the hospital.
The suspect was taken to a psychiatric facility after the attack, local media reported.
“I immediately started screaming for him to stop. I ran towards him, but the girls were a little faster,” the teacher added.
“He hit them both in the head with a hammer, then I was hit in the arm, shoulder and head.”
A student from another class recounted the horrific incident.
“We were sitting in physics class and heard screaming in the hallway on the second floor,” said an eighth-grader.
‘It was almost 9am. We were wondering what was going on.
‘The teacher came out and saw that everyone was covered in blood. She tried to protect her classmate from the blow, but it didn’t work.
“There was blood in the hallway and in the bathroom. We were then escorted out of the building.”
The grandmother of one of the injured girls said: ‘He went into the classroom, sat there for a while, came out with a gun, an axe, a knife, and this is what happened.
Other reports said he was armed with a hammer, not an axe, and was detained in the toilets.
The suspect is also alleged to have participated in a sinister online suicide game that involved injuring people before taking his own life.
Investigators said they would look into the allegations while investigating the organization of security and compliance with school rules.
The Investigative Committee has launched criminal proceedings for negligence and attempted murder, TASS reports. information.
Hours before the attack, the student posted on Telegram about the so-called “slavery” of the school system.
“The school is designed to turn young children into slaves and distract them from the truth of our government,” he wrote, according to Slow.
“In schools they instill what is right and what is wrong, but in reality there is no good or evil,” he wrote.
“And there is no hell. Our great nation needs freedom of speech.”
The boy’s father said he was more interested in playing Minecraft, but had been bullied at school, with classmates spitting on him and “morally destroying” him.
The scene is sealed off after the National Guard arrived to stop the rampage.
Four people were taken to the hospital when authorities arrived to arrest the boy.
Regional Governor Alexei Texler said: ‘A student attacked other pupils and teachers.
“There are victims. They are hospitalized and are receiving all necessary medical attention.”
He stressed: “An investigation is underway. A big question is how the student brought a hammer to school. Why did security not react?”
“At 9:20 local time (04:20 GMT), the local police department received a report that a schoolboy born in 2011 injured his classmates and a teacher with several objects,” the regional branch of the Russian Interior Ministry said in a statement.
“The number of injured is being determined. School staff called the Russian National Guard, who detained the student.”
