A Brazilian teenager who attracted a large following as an influencer by sharing her battle with cancer has died at the age of 13, her family has revealed.
Lorena Torezan, 13, was pronounced dead on Wednesday morning by doctors at Hospital Do Amor in Barreto, São Paulo.
Torezan was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10 in 2020 and underwent chemotherapy to treat the disease, Brazilian media reported.
She then instantly became a social media sensation on Instagram, where she shared details of her treatment process and showed off her talent for dancing and facial makeup.

Doctors would later detect a cancerous tumor behind the vena cava, which is a large vein that carries blood from the heart to other parts of the body.
The young woman’s cancer advanced and spread to her uterus.
Hospital Do Amor accepted Torezan as a candidate for free treatment with a medication manufactured by a US-based pharmaceutical company.

Torezan’s mother, Adriana Lopes, paid tribute to him with a series of videos on her Instagram Story on Thursday morning.
A heartbreaking video showed Lopes presenting a gift to his daughter before showing her sitting in a chair after shaving her head.
“It seems unbelievable,” wrote the heartbroken mother.
Lopes reposted a video of Torezan performing a dance routine on TikTok with the caption reading, ‘Daughter, your joy, your unique way.’ you were light in our lives.’
“You touched many hearts, we are very proud of you, daughter,” Lopes added.
