A teenager from Georgia is accused of murder after allegedly pushing his stepmother up the stairs and she died the next day.

Austin Perot, 18, was arrested after the domestic dispute with Malgorzata Bozek on February 8.

Bozek suffered multiple skull fractures in the fall that police say was caused when Perot pushed her down a staircase in a house in Marietta.

Perot was initially accused of aggravated battery, but the charge was upgraded to murder after Bozek died as a result of her injuries on 9 February.

He was booked at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without a band.

The police did not disclose details about what led to the altercation.
