Briana DeJesus was nervous about her mother Roxanne returning home after a stint in rehab on Thursday’s episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter on MTV.
“My understanding is that she suffered a lot from using heroin. A lot. A teenager, Nova’s age, using heroin,” said Briana, 30. “Who knows, she might want to go back to using opioids. I don’t know.”
The season two episode titled Pursue You begins with Briana saying that she had no idea how to handle Roxanne’s return.
Briana said in a confessional that she set boundaries with her mother by keeping the kids away from her, but questioned whether that was still the right thing to do.
In West Virginia, Leah Messer, 32, took her daughter Aliannah to her physical therapy appointment. Leah said that a few months after Aliannah was born, she was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy.

“Now, like any teenager, he wants to fit in, so he fights me to use his wheelchair and instead relies a lot on me and my sister,” Leah said.
Leah had lunch with her sister Victoria and said that her daughter did not want to use the wheelchair. Victoria said that her stubbornness and independence were an inspiration, but that she needed to accept her limitations due to the disease.
Cheyenne Floyd, 30, shared that her ex Cory Wharton, 33, was going to be doing The Challenge and she was worried about how her daughter Ryder would react to being away from him for so long.
Meanwhile, Cory, in Seattle, talked to his girlfriend Taylor Selfridge about the possibility of Cheyenne coming to Seattle with their other daughters when he was gone. He asked Taylor if she would be okay and she said it was awkward because people were constantly asking her where her husband was.
“Sometimes I’m embarrassed to be with the kids in places where they’re like, ‘Where’s your husband?'” Taylor said. “Hmm, I don’t have a husband.”
“You can tell,” Cory said. “We have two kids and a new house together.”
“You can’t just call me your wife,” Taylor said. “You haven’t made me your wife.”
“Just because you don’t have the ring yet doesn’t mean you’re not my wife,” Cory said.
Roxanne went to rehab to deal with substance abuse issues.
In West Virginia, Leah Messer, 32, was dealing with her daughter Aliannah, who refused to use her wheelchair.
Roxanne received a warm welcome when she was able to see her grandchildren again.
The episode showed Roxanne working on her sobriety with the support of her family.
The next day, Taylor drove Cory to the airport and left crying.
At Jade Cline’s home in Indiana, she expected her mother Christy would only receive house arrest for a probation violation on her marijuana possession charge. She later learned that the court did not approve her house arrest and sentenced her to jail for 62 days.
“This whole situation is a mess,” said Jade, 27.
She was worried about what she would say to Kloie.
Cheyenne told her husband Zach Davis that Ryder was excited about the trip to Seattle. She called Taylor to check on him and see if they could make Seattle a reality.
“Mila misses her older sister too, so I think it’s a good idea,” Taylor said.
Cory called Cheyenne and Ryder said she wanted a pink Gucci bag if she won the challenge.
Leah said she wanted to encourage her family to slow down their daughter and let her learn to be more independent.
Brianna told her daughter Nova that her grandmother was coming home from the airport. Nova’s father, Devoin, came to take care of the children.
“I sometimes feel embarrassed to be with the kids in places where they’re like, ‘Where’s your husband?'” Taylor Selfridge said. “Hmm, I don’t have a husband.”
“Just because you don’t have the ring yet doesn’t mean you’re not my wife,” Cory said.
The next day, Taylor drove Cory to the airport and left crying.
“I know that when he comes home he won’t be a completely different person,” Brianna said. “We’ll see what happens, but I think everything will be okay.”
Her mother, Roxanne, got into her car and said her children wanted to see her.
“What’s your plan now?” Brianna asked. “And you’re off methadone?”
“Yeah, totally,” Roxanne said. “That’s what I went to do. I did it. It was hard.”
Cheyenne flew to Seattle with her kids and checked into their Airbnb. Taylor came over and Ryder and Ace were excited to see Mila and Maya and hugged them. Cheyenne asked Taylor how she was doing after Cory said on MTV that everyone was asking him when he was getting married.
“Why wouldn’t you want a healthy marriage for your children, so they can see a healthy marriage?” Taylor asked.
“I told him that since we’re having a child together, I’m going to have to deal with you for a long time,” Cheyenne said. “I need you to be the best version of yourself for Ryder and show him what men are supposed to do.”
“He doesn’t treat me badly,” Taylor said. “He treats me very well.”
“He really loves you and is very comfortable with you,” Cheyenne said. “And I want you to make him uncomfortable sometimes.”
“What’s your plan now?” Brianna asked. “And you’re off methadone?”
Cheyenne flew to Seattle with her kids and checked into her AirBnb before speaking to Taylor.
“He doesn’t treat me badly,” Taylor said. “He treats me very well.”
“I used to cry and now I’m angry,” Taylor said. “I’m not going to waste my years with you.”
“I feel sorry for Taylor,” Cheyenne said in a confessional.
Brianna told her mother that she needed to come up with a plan so she wouldn’t be alone all the time. Roxanne said she was taking mood stabilizers and could no longer hide her PTSD.
“I wasn’t protected,” Roxanne said. “I didn’t want that for my children. I didn’t want that cycle to repeat itself.”
Roxanne said she hoped she was on the road to recovery.
“Thank you for being a good daughter,” Roxanne said.
Jade let her father Corey move in with her after her mother went to jail. Later that day, her mother Christy called her from jail. She said it was a tough pill to swallow because she had been clean for 15 months from things she had done in the past.

“Let me tell you, I’m too old for this,” Christy said. “It’s horrible. I’m just trying to make the best of the situation I’m in.”
Jade didn’t want to tell her daughter that her grandmother was in jail.
Leah’s daughter, Aliannah, called her mother on a walkie-talkie and asked her to get her some water. Leah asked her if she was excited to start high school.
“I’m going to step back and let you be more independent,” Leah said. “But over the years, we’ve also kept the reality of your muscle disease from you.”
“I know where I can walk and where I can’t walk,” Aliannah said.
“You know your body better than anyone,” Leah said.
Cheyenne and Taylor took their kids on a tour of Seattle. Cory called them to check on them.
“Daddy loves you,” Cory said.
Cheyenne said she learned from co-parenting with Cory to put the kids first.
Briana met with her sister Brittany to talk about their mother.
“I’m going to step back and let you be more independent,” Leah said. “But over the years, we’ve also kept the reality of your muscle disease from you.”
“I know where I can walk and where I can’t walk,” Aliannah said.

“I know my mom is strong, my mom is resilient, so I know that no matter what happens, I want to say that my mom is going to be okay,” Briana said in a confessional.
