Briana DeJesus cried in front of a producer after her sister Brittany and mother Roxanne argued during a therapy session on Thursday’s episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter on MTV.
The 30-year-old reality star, during the season two episode titled A Toxic Triangle, found herself caught between her older sister Brittany, 32, and her mother Roxanne, who was in rehab for substance abuse issues.
Earlier in the episode, Briana seemed optimistic about Roxanne’s progress at a substance abuse treatment facility.
She told the other moms on a group call that her mother had been at the treatment center for about three weeks and that she could only talk to her once a week.
“But every time I talk to her, she seems to be getting better and better. All the feedback has been very positive. So I’m glad she’s taking this treatment center seriously and getting the help she needs,” Briana said.

The group call was interrupted by Roxanne calling Briana.
“I have to tell you something. You’re not going to believe this. I finished detoxing today,” Roxanne revealed.
Briana was shocked and Roxanne admitted that she was also in shock because she thought she had two more weeks left.
“Are you feeling better?” Briana asked.
“I’m exhausted because I haven’t slept all week. It’s okay. I’ll fall asleep eventually,” Roxanne said.
Roxanne said she was feeling optimistic and told Briana she loved her before ending their conversation.
Briana immediately called Brittany and told her that Roxanne “sounds absolutely amazing.”
They both agreed that Roxanne couldn’t come home without everyone doing a therapy session together.

Briana later revealed to her friends that she received a message from her mother’s therapist who was planning to call her.
“She’s basically telling me that my mom isn’t doing well. And I’m a little confused because I personally thought everything was going well. This is stressing me out,” Briana said.
The therapist called and shared that Roxanne was skipping group sessions and not doing anything.
“Wow, he’s been lying to us for so long,” Briana said.
Brittany came to Briana’s house for a virtual therapy session with her mom to figure out what was going on.
Briana asked her sister if she was ready for the session.
—Yeah, I don’t like her. She’s a liar and I don’t trust her because of how she pretended she was doing fine on the phone, Brittany said.

“Yeah, I don’t like her. She’s a liar and I don’t trust her because she pretended like she was doing fine on the phone with you,” Brittany said of Roxanne before the shoot.
Briana said she wanted to ask Roxanne to explain what was really going on.
“I’m going to tell him that you don’t bring me peace,” Brittany said.
The therapy session was not shown, but Brittany was seen storming out 10 minutes later.
“I don’t give a shit what you say, Roxanne. Because at the end of the day, you’ve never been a good mother. You’re selfish, Mom,” Brittany said as she left the session.
A producer named Vicky met Brittany in the kitchen, who said she told Roxanne how she felt.
“They were like, ‘Oh, we’re working on your breathing exercises to address your trauma. ‘ And I was like, ‘Can I just say something? I don’t give a shit about your breathing exercises or your fucking trauma. I don’t want you in my life if you’re gonna keep doing that bullshit. ‘ So, yeah, that’s how I feel. Case closed,” Brittany said before walking away.
Briana showed up 20 minutes later looking dejected.
“My sister got mad at my mom. And then my mom said really mean things to my sister, like ‘f*** off,’ ‘shut the f*** up.’ It was like a back and forth. We have some kind of toxic triangle and it needs to stop,” Briana said.
Briana expressed her frustration in a confessional.

“It’s a shame because there are children involved. It’s literally just me, the two girls, my mother and my sister. In the end, we all have one goal: that we can all get along and come together as one big happy family. And if we all have the same goal in mind, why don’t we all work together to achieve it?” she said.
The episode also showed Leah Messer, 32, taking her twins Aliannah and Aleeah, 14, to their first gynecologist appointment.
“Your health and well-being are always my priority,” Leah told the twins.
Leah spoke to the twins afterwards about her experience.
Aleeah shared her disappointment at the lack of comprehensive sex education in schools, saying: “I don’t think it’s fair that other parents aren’t teaching these things to their children.”
Leah reflected in a confessional on her experience as a teenage mother.

Tyler Baltierra participated in his first father-daughter dance with his daughter Novalee.
She couldn’t help but think of her first daughter, Carly, who was given up for adoption by Tyler and his wife Catelynn.
“What would it have been like to be able to take Carly to a father-daughter dance?” she wondered. “I didn’t get to do anything special with Carly, just for her to be herself. So I have to make sure I do that with Nova and with Veda and Rya as they get older, because it goes by so fast.
Tyler and Novalee went out to dinner before the dance and she promised that she hadn’t kissed a boy yet.
They had a lot of fun at the dance and Tyler made an effort to compliment her afterwards.
“I think you’re an amazing kid. You’re very smart. You’re wise. You think deeply about things,” Tyler said.
“I think you’re an amazing father. I love you so much. And you always answer my questions when I’m really curious. I really appreciate you taking me to the dance,” Nova said.
The episode also showed Maci McKinney meeting Ryan Edwards’ new girlfriend, Amanda, for lunch.
