Dustin Caudill, who served nearly 30 years in prison for killing his mother and little brother, allegedly shot and killed two people just four months after his release.

A murderer who killed his mother and brother when he was 15 killed two more people just four months after serving his sentence, police say.

Dustin Caudill was 15 years old when he was arrested for the deaths of his mother Karen Caudill, 33, and his younger brother Nicholas, 10, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, in 1994.

Police at the time said Caudill shot his brother after an argument over smoking marijuana. He then shot his mother dead when she arrived home that same night.

Caudill, now 43, was released in 2020 after serving 27 years in prison, but was arrested again in 2023 for violating his parole.

Police now say that just four months after his release, Caudill murdered Blake France, 41, and Anthony Garrett, 43, before setting fire to a home in Elizabethtown.

The victims were found shot to death inside the burned home, prompting police to launch an arson and murder investigation.

Witnesses said they saw a gold van leave the murder scene and took them to Caudill.

According to police, the killer was found at a nearby motel and was seen disposing of a gun.

Caudill “specifically admitted to shooting the victims and intentionally setting the residence on fire,” according to Elizabethtown police spokesman Chris Denham.

He also allegedly confessed to stealing the victims’ wallets and throwing them in the trash at a gas station, as well as attempting to shoot a third person.

Caudill is charged with one count of first-degree arson, two counts of murder, one count of tampering with physical evidence, one count of first-degree wanton endangerment, one count of first-degree robbery and one count of possession of a gun by a convicted felon.

Police have yet to share a possible motive for the latest bloodbath.

In 1994, the killer claimed that his mother smoked marijuana and beat him, adding that his family always “jumped on him and beat him,” as local media reported at the time.

Caudill told police that on the night of the murders he “just blew up.”

“We were playing some cards and talking and then he started acting stupid. He just started acting like a little brother,” the killer told police about the moments before killing his little brother.

Caudhill was filmed being bundled into a police car as a baby-faced teenager. But now he has a terrifying array of tattoos on his face.
