Teddy Sinclair, aka Natalia Kills, and her husband Willy Moon say they lost “almost everything” after their Greenwich Village apartment caught fire.

The New York-based couple, best known for being abruptly fired from The X Factor New Zealand in 2015 after scolding a contestant on the air, shared dramatic images of the ‘gas fire with five alarms’ on Instagram on Wednesday.

The fire “took 200 firefighters and 12 hours to put out,” according to a post on the official account of their band Cruel Youth.

In a caption to images of the inferno, the 34-year-old songwriter wrote: “ This weekend Willy and I survived a fire … not just any fire, but a five-alarm gas fire that took 200 firefighters and 12 hours to turn off. .

‘We’ve lost almost everything, but our neighbor saved our dog Bambi and luckily we can start over together!

“It’s terrifying and tragic, and after a tough year at Covid, the next few months aren’t going to be easy … but honestly, I can’t feel more lucky / blessed than I do now!”

“ Thank you so much to the brave firefighters who kicked their lives and risked their lives, thank you to our neighbor Kyle for rescuing our dog, and thank you very much to our friends, ” she concluded.

The former actress posted videos of the fire to Instagram Stories, accompanied by her own commentary describing the massacre.

In the videos, the British-born singer-songwriter specifically spoke with what sounded like an American accent.

Sinclair and Moon, 31, moved to the United States in March 2015 after their brief but controversial reality TV career.

Moon added, ‘I just think it’s a bit cheap and absurd. It’s like Norman Bates is dressing up in his mother’s clothes. It’s just a little bit scary. ‘

The network that aired the show, TV3, immediately fired the husband-and-wife duo, citing their “ destructive tirades. ”
