Former USA forward Taylor Twellman has claimed that Jack Grealish took “too many touches” after analyzing his performance in Manchester City’s emphatic 4-1 win over Liverpool.
The $123 million Englishman provided an assist and scored the fourth goal in the resounding win.
Although Apple TV’s Twellman admitted the winger ‘played himself’, he wondered if City manager Pep Guardiola would still demand more pace.
“Greylish looks good but I’m the only one who still sees a lot of touch,” Twellman said on Twitter on Saturday.
Could he easily play KDB (Kevin De Bruyne), shoot himself, or keep his lead?! It might be too rough in the moment but I wonder if Pep still wants to be ‘faster’.

“He played himself today and I need to make that very clear.”
City fans at the stadium criticized Guardiola for “guiding flair” from Grealish early in the 2022-23 season.
The most expensive English footballer ever when he moved from Aston Villa to City in the summer of 2021, he continued to struggle at the start of the campaign.
He suffered a drop in form and failed to gain a place within the star-studded squad. Grealish has faced a lot of scrutiny given the huge money move.
Guardiola was quick to come to Grealish’s defense in September when the England star was substituted with City behind Borussia Dortmund.
The City manager insisted he had not “signed him up for the amazing goals or assists” as he said the player himself was not responsible for his slow start at the Etihad.
But since then the story has been different.
The 27-year-old has hardly been dropped and has proven pivotal in City’s crucial matches as they chase more silverware.
