With Taylor Swift preparing to play her final shows on the Australian leg of her Eras tour, Swifties around the world are eager to know one thing: what will the weather be like during her four shows in Sydney?

And while the 288,000 fans at the pop star’s three shows in Melbourne were lucky to have a string of dry, sunny days, Sydney may not be so lucky, with some showers and storms forecast.

After a week of tumultuous weather in Sydney, which even saw people struck by lightning on Monday, concertgoers can expect a more mixed forecast for concerts at Accor Stadium.

FRIDAY NIGHT – FEBRUARY 23

Good news first. A high of 34°C is forecast for Friday. Bad news? There is a 90 percent chance of rain.

The high chance of showers and thunderstorms occurs after a sunny morning, with wet weather more likely to arrive in the afternoon and evening.

The Bureau of Meteorology predicts up to 15mm of rain could fall on the Homebush stadium.

The advice then is to bring your poncho, but also your sunscreen. The UV rating will reach a maximum of 10 and sun protection is recommended.

Light winds will blow from the northwest, reaching speeds of 15 to 25 km during the morning, then turn from the southeast to southwest overnight.

If Swifties are worried that Friday’s show will be canceled or postponed, history has shown that the multiple Grammy Award winner isn’t letting the wet weather stop her.

The last time the music icon performed in Australia in 2018, she sang and danced on stage in the rain in Sydney.

Swift’s Eras tour also had rain during an entire show in Massachusetts in May 2023.

“Last night we all danced together in the rain for THE ENTIRE 3.5 HOUR SHOW,” Swift wrote on X.

‘This was a total deluge that never stopped, I just want to thank that iconic crowd!! I love you so much you have no idea.’

At an Eras concert in the United States last May, the duration of Swift's performance was affected by a 'total barrage that never stops', leaving her overwhelmed (pictured, her X feed with images from the night).

SATURDAY NIGHT – FEBRUARY 24

Swifties attending Saturday night’s show will avoid the heat on Friday, with a high of just 24C predicted for the megastar’s second outing in Sydney.

However, there is a 70 percent chance of rain, but it will most likely arrive in the morning.

The southerly winds, which will reach between 20 and 30 kilometers, will subside in the afternoon.

The UV rating is again a very high 10, meaning Swifties arriving early to the venue to soak up the atmosphere (or try to buy tickets) should wear sunscreen.

Bring your ponchos, Sydney. With a 90 percent chance of rain and the possibility of a thunderstorm on Friday, Swifties should come prepared (pictured, Taylor Swift performing in the rain at a concert in Sydney on Nov. 2, 2018).
