Taylor Swift let her good friend and supporting actress Sabrina Carpenter have a moment in the spotlight at her Sydney show on Friday night.

Swift’s first concert in Sydney started late into the night after storms and rain caused the temporary evacuation of Accor Stadium.

This led to the set for Carpenter’s support act being cancelled, before Swift finally took the stage a little over 20 minutes after the scheduled 7:30 p.m. start time.

Taylor made sure Sabrina still had a show by inviting her on stage for a pair to perform a cover of White Horse together.

‘My incredibly talented, wonderful, beautiful, hilarious, genius opening act Sabrina Carpenter!’ Taylor said when introducing the 24-year-old American singer.

Swift was watched proudly by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who caused a roar from the crowd when he arrived to proudly watch his pop star lover do what he does best.

Bad weather that hit Sydney on Friday night caused chaos among the 80,000 Swifties heading to their first Eras Tour show in the city.

Fans sitting on the ground and in the lower levels of the stadium were asked to enter after lightning struck just 10 kilometers away shortly before 6pm.

A statement from Accor Stadium issued shortly before 6pm informed concertgoers that the three-hour show had been delayed.

“Please note that due to weather, the start time of the show has been delayed,” it said.

‘Remain undercover until further notice and follow venue screens and staff instructions.

“Stay safe and remember to be kind to those around you.”

Swift took the stage around 7:50 p.m., while her support act Sabrina Carpenter was canceled for Friday night’s performance.
