A Kansas City Chiefs coach claimed Taylor Swift secretly attended some of the team’s games last season before her romance with Travis Kelce came to light in the fall.
Dave Merritt revealed during a recent episode of ‘The Sports Shop with Reese and K-Mac’ podcast that the singer began showing her support for the team’s starting tight end before attending his first game in Kansas City in September.
“When (Taylor) started showing up, it was private,” the Chiefs defensive backs coach said. “She entered stadiums without people knowing until the camera highlighted it.”
Merritt, who has been with the Chiefs since 2019, added that all the players were supportive of the couple’s relationship from the beginning, even though it could mean the team gaining more exposure than ever, and welcomed Swift to your inner circle immediately.
”There were so many people who hated the fact that she was on television that, you know what? You’re part of our family because you’re with Travis,” she said.

Swift, who recently landed in Singapore after performing four times in Australia as part of her ‘Eras’ tour, began secretly dating Kelce last summer but didn’t appear at a Chiefs game until they faced Chicago. Bears on September 24.
The ‘You Belong with Me’ hitmaker attended a total of 13 Chiefs games last season, including one in New York, and kissed her beau after Kansas City beat the Baltimore Ravens in the game for the AFC Championship last month.
They kissed once again after Kelce won his third Super Bowl ring on February 11.
Kelce has supported his girlfriend by attending her concerts in Sydney, Australia, last week, and in Argentina, last November.
